To the editor:
Hat's off to the many people that made the 65th annual Strawberry Festival such a success! The Chassell Lions Club appreciates our local media for the attention and publicity for our great event and the vendors that participated. There are so many organizations that make the festival so wonderful. We would like to thank the PATT group and newly signed on Sports Boosters for providing great food. Special thanks to Sally VanKleeck for taking on the managing of the former VFW food booth.
We want to acknowledge committee chairs; Bill Leonard - Festival Treasurer, Theresa Trewella and Judy Zurcher - Strawberry Queen Coordinators, Dave Strong - Parade Coordinator, Al Eckhart - Vendor Coordinator, Arleen Morrissey - Brochure Ad Coordinator, Kriss Bosley - Brochure designer, Judy Rupley - Children's Parade Coordinator, Kirk Yarina - children's games, Hazel Tepsa - Fish Bowl and Music Coordinator, Dan Palosaari - Signage and Cooler Coordinator (all around what ever needs to get fixed), Chris Sayen - Grounds Crew Coordinator, Special thanks to Steve Palosaari for providing the free horsedrawn wagon rides and being our autioneer (We would say he was "Best in Show"), kitchen staff coordinators Bill Johnson and John VanWestenberg. Support given by Mike and Vickie Mattila, Walt Kuntze, Lois Berg, Judy and Nick Evert, Naomi Tervo, Gary and Barb Worrall. Thanks to Doug Mechlin for the great web design and for assisting Hazel when Lion Severi was ill. (She has the best regards for your work ethic and support). The Kerbin sisters and the Ahola family were great contributors to our success. Please know your support was appreciated. Our community is so fortunate to have such dedicated volunteers. Special thanks to the Thursday night "Strawberry Cleaning Crew," you know who you are and the club is grateful for you. So many show up every year just to help us out.
Special thanks to Dan Crane. We cannot say enough about the support this man gives to not only the Chassell Lions but also to the Strawberry Festival. Know your efforts are appreciated!
Thanks to all the members of the Chassell Lions. Know that I cannot mention all by name. We all come together to support this great event.
Finally, thanks to all who attended. In Lionism,
