Three local departments responded to a fire on Quincy Hill Tuesday afternoon. According to those on the scene, the alarm was called in at 2:18 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find an old wooden railroad car on fire in an area known locally as “The Pines.” Firemen said a crew from the Quincy Hoist Association was working on the car with torches when part of the car began to burn. The Quincy-Franklin Township, Boston and Hancock Township Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the blaze, and remained on the scene for about an hour. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
