TAPIOLA - Rallying from a 5-0 deficit after four innings, Tapiola captured the Over 50 Softball League regular season title Thursday night with a 6-5 victory over Houghton.
The win gave the victors a 5-1 record and the number one seed in the playoffs beginning next Monday.
Tapiola's big inning was the fifth frame when it scored four times, a triple by Pete Oikarinen and double by Jim Oikarinen the big blows.

Jed Denomie picked up the mound victory, scattering nine hits. Losing hurler Steve Dunstan gave up 13 hits.
Jim Oikarinen, Pete Oikarinen and Denomie all picked up three hits for Tapiola, while Andy Heikkinen had two raps.
Houghton, 4-2, received two hits from Dave Usitalo.
In the other game, South Range notched a 12-4 win over Chassell behind four hits by Brien Ricci and Glenn Mitchell.
Dick Franti added three raps, while Dave Fehringer, Greg Tchida and Ed Hartel added two raps apiece for the 4-2 winners.
Dave Kaiponen yielded eight hits in winning it. Losing chucker Mitch Lake allowed 18 raps. Chassell, closing at 0-6, had two hits from Nick Lindemann.
In Monday's games, Tapiola and Chassell meet at 6:15 p.m. South Range and Houghton will play at 7:30.
