SOUTH RANGE - Edward Eugene "Uncle Ed" LaTourneau, 60, of 5 Painesdale Avenue, South Range, went to be with his Lord after a two-year courageous battle with cancer, Friday afternoon, August 23, 2013, in his home with his wife and daughter, Jennifer Fitch, his personal RN, at his side.
Born May 29, 1953, in Marquette, a son of William A. and Thelma M. (Ingison) LaTourneau, Ed was a native of Marquette but spent his later years in South Range.
Ed's favorite pastimes included metal detecting, golfing, shooting pool, listening to music and watching his beloved Packer football games!
Ed was employed at Wal-Mart for the past eight years.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Jill (Chapin) LaTourneau; two sons, Ed (Kelly) LaTourneau and Christopher LaTourneau, both of Mosinee, Wis.; daughters, Jennifer LaTourneau and Amanda LaTourneau, both of Marquette, Roberta (William) Jondreau of Baraga, Paula (Allan) Provost and Jennifer Fitch, both of Lake Linden and Danielle (David) Coppo of Kearsarge; grandchildren, Nevaeh, Dustin, Samantha, Wyatt, William, Steele, Makayla and Eli; his mother, Thelma LaTourneau of Marquette; his twin sister, Christine LaTourneau of Marquette; sisters, Diane (Jim) Sicotte of Marquette and Rose (Steve) Ehlers of Ishpeming; brothers, Robert LaTourneau and Joseph LaTourneau, both of Marquette; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, William; brother, William and a nephew, Timmy.
The service will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church of South Range.
The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Sally Wilke will officiate with the assistance of Ed's sister, Captain Christine LaTourneau, (R).
