PORT HURON TOWNSHIP and ST. HELEN -James R. Loshaw, 73, of Port Huron Township and St. Helen, passed away on August 14, 2013, in the Blue Water Hospice Home, with his family by his side.
He was born September 16, 1939, in Pontiac, to the late George and Magdeline Loshaw.
James married Donna J. Foster, on June 20, 1959 in Port Huron.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He was the manager of the recreational facilities at Michigan Technological University in Houghton.
James is survived by his wife, Donna of Port Huron Township; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas (Wendy) Loshaw of Port Huron Township; son and partner, Michael (David Foley) Loshaw of Quincy, Mass.; three grandchildren, Nicole (Jordan), Joshua and Danielle; great granddaughter, Marley; devoted brother-in-law to Margaret Dixon of Port Huron; surrogate son, Ted (Jeanne) Dixon of Port Huron; along with many devoted members of the Loshaw, Kanthak and Ballard families.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St., Port Huron. Dr. Sherry Parker, pastor of Brighton United Methodist Church officiated.
Inurnment will be held in Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium. St. Clair County Allied Veterans conducted military honors.
