Marie A. Peters

JACOBSVILLE - Marie A. Peters, 91, a former Jacobsville and Lake Linden resident, passed away late Monday night at Our Lady of Mercy Health and Rehab in Hubbell where she currently resided.

She was born December 11, 1921 in Lake Linden, a daughter of Lawrence and Antoinette (MacDonald) Brouillette and attended the local schools.

Marie worked for Wilcox Studio in Houghton and later as a bartender at the Maple Leaf Inn.

Marie married Thomas Peters on April 16, 1942, in St. Joseph Catholic Church Rectory in Lake Linden. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a step-granddaughter, LeAnn Bessner; brothers, Lawrence and Alfred Brouillette and a sister-in-law, Patricia Brouillette.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden and William Giroux Post 90 Legion Auxiliary.

Marie is survived by five sons, Thomas (Elizabeth) Peters of Ishpeming, Robert (Lorena) Peters of Lake Linden, Richard (Bonnie) Peters of Calumet, Rodney (Carolyn) Peters of Laurium, Danny Peters of Manitowoc, Wis.; one daughter, Debra (John) Smith of Calumet; 19 grandchildren; brother, Donald Brouillette of Laurium; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
