BELLAIRE, Mich. -Lloyd G. Berriman Sr., 93, of Bellaire, Mich., passed away on August 30, 2013, at his home.
Lloyd was born on December 12, 1919, the son of Peter and Ann (Stevens) Berriman.
Lloyd grew up in Calumet, then went on to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed by the Burroughs Corporation for 32 years and was a long time California resident until moving to Bellaire three years ago.
He loved to golf, bowl, and walk his dog and cat whom was known as the "whistling neighbor."
Lloyd is survived by three children, Janet (Preston) Murray of Bellaire, Mich., Lloyd Jr. (Linda) Berriman of Porter Ranch, Calif., Kathy (Tom) Pratley of Bellaire, Mich.; three grandchildren, Damon Murray, Rachel Pratley and Trevor Berriman; nieces, Judy Taylor and Bonnie Stern, as well as others.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace and several siblings, as well as others.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 7 at 1 p.m. in the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes of Michigan. Pastor Gary Bekkering will officiate.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
Interment with military honors will be on Monday, September 9 at 11 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Antrim County Humane Society or to Northwest Michigan Hospice.
