HARVEY - Paul E. Wiedenhoefer, 79, of Harvey, entered eternal life Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital.
Paul was born in Hancock, on November 26, 1933, a son of Ernest and Lydia (Miller) Wiedenhoefer.
He was married to Carol Coe in 1959 with the couple enjoying 54 years of marriage. Paul was employed by the Michigan Department of Transportation as a highway inspector, earning the nickname "MG" or "Mad German" to most of his co-workers. He retired from the Michigan Department of Transportation in 1996 following 43 years of service.
In his spare time, Paul enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending lots of time at the family camp on Three Lakes. He attended all of his grandchildren's sporting events, regardless of weather conditions.
Paul is survived by his wife, Carol; a son, Mark (Sara) Wiedenhoefer and their children, Jae, Anja, Reed and Greta Wiedenhoefer of Skandia; his daughters, Lisa (Gary) Horwood and daughters, Lindsay and Kayley Horwood of Marquette, and Paula (Dean) Aude and their son, Luke Aude of Trophy Club, Texas.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Lynn Horwood; his brother, Ernest Wiedenhoefer; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cameron and Doris Coe.
Services were held in the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marquette on Tuesday, September 3. Rev. Steve Hulke was the officiant.
