HURONTOWN - Ronald Lee O'Connell, 51, passed away suddenly in his home on August 31, 2013.
Ron was a beloved father, son, uncle and a great friend to numerous people.
He spent time in the U.S. Navy where he was a boiler technician.
He also worked at the Copper Country Ford garage and as a nurse's aide at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock.
Ron mostly enjoyed working with cars, basically anything with a motor, grabbed his interest.
Ron is survived by his parents, Gerald and Rita O'Connell of Dodgeville; children, Terinna O'Connell and her fiance, Nathan Crowder of Gladstone; a special young man that held a place in his heart, Raymond Burrus of Fort Riley, Kan.; Dillan and Ryan O'Connell of Dodgeville and Donnarae O'Connell of Donalsonville, Ga.; brothers and sisters, John O'Connell of Laurium, Gary (Joyce) O'Connell of Calumet, Helen (John "Ussie") Schutz of Painesdale, Karen O'Connell of Houghton, Sara (John) Mattila of Iron Mountain, Pamela (Burton) Heikkila of Dodgeville, Debbie (Paul) Paavola of Houghton, Bruce O'Connell of Dodgeville; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron was preceded in death by his grandmother, Arlene Auno.
A gathering of family and friends for a visitation in memory of Ron will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013, in the South Range Apostolic Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor Chuck Bylkas. Immediately following, a luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall in the church.
