FULTON LOCATION - Leonard J. Rajaniemi, 76, a resident of Fulton Location passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013, in Cypress Manor in Hancock.

He was born on October 14, 1936, in Mohawk, a son of the late Waino and Mildred (Hatala) Rajaniemi.

He graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1953.

On May 18, 1957, he was married to Nancy Savinen.

Leonard worked as a copper miner first at C & H and later at White Pine and Kingston retiring in 1985.

Preceding him in death was his brother, William; sister, Barbara Mason; grandson, Uriah Sutinen; great granddaughter, Isabella Heikkinen and son in law, Steve Spelich.

Surviving are three sons, James (Brenda) Rajaniemi of Laurium, Eric Rajaniemi of Fulton Location, Danny (Patty Gray) Rajaniemi of Calumet; four daughters, Rebecca Spelich of Seneca Location, Denice (Paul) Meneguzzo of Raymbaultown, Joni (Bill) Geiger of Calumet, Melissa (Bruce) Sutinen of Laurium; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Julie, Josh, Stephanie, Christina, Amanda, Melissa, Nancy, Isaiah and Zeb; seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private family services will be held.

The Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
