Theodore “Ted” Fontaine

LAKE LINDEN -Theodore "Ted" Fontaine, 86, of Lake Linden, passed away at his home on September 23, 2013.

He was born on July 14, 1927, a son of Emil and Millie Fontaine. He graduated from Dollar Bay High School.

Ted was employed by C&H Mining Company in the foundry. He later worked at the Ford Forestry Center in Alberta for Michigan Tech until his retirement.

On November 24, 1955, he was married to Diane Dupuis in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden. She passed away on December 3, 1990.

Ted was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he had served as an usher. He also served on the Torch Lake Credit Union Board for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Diane; and a grand daughter, Amanda Chamberlain.

He is survived by a son, Ted (Colleen) of Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Mary (Rich) Chamberlain of Lake Linden and Joyce Fontaine of Lake Linden; three grandchildren, Diane Fontaine, Emily Larsen and Marc Chamberlain; five great-grandchildren, Braydon, Jack and Jesse Chamberlain, Matthew and Rachel Larsen; a sister, Gene Suino of Laurium; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 27, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden, with Fr. Francis Dobrzenski to officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m., on Thursday in the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a parish prayer service at 7:30.

Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
