HANCOCK - Musician Steve Jones will be playing this Friday at The Orpheum Theater in Hancock.
Jones said he loves performing at The Orpheum because of the audience that comes.
"It's a captive audience more so than playing in restaurants and bars," Jones said. "The Orpheum, Rozsa, Calumet Theater or The Shelden Grill is the kind of place where people come for the music. It's a lot more intimate," Jones said.

Steve Jones (shown above) will be playing at the Orpheum Theater Friday night. Tickets for the show are $10 and $7 for students. The show starts at 8 with doors opening at 7:30 p.m.
Even if someone has never heard of Steve Jones or doesn't like the music he plays, Jones said that shouldn't deter them from coming out to the theater to watch them play.
"Anytime people come ... at the end of the show, they say they have fun," Jones said. "... (I'm) playing it for the audience."
Mike Shupe, owner of The Orpheum Theater, said Steve Jones is a local favorite and the acoustics of the theater really help amplify the sound of the band.
Shupe is also expecting a big crowd for the show.
"People know that Steve gives a fantastic show and The Orpheum is the place to hear him," Shupe said. "This is more about the music. It's not background music. If you love music you should come see Steve Jones anytime you can."
Steve Jones will be playing at 8 p.m. Friday Sept. 27. Tickets are $10 and $7 for students.
