CALUMET - The second suspect in the armed robbery of two Watton residents in August was arrested in Wisconsin Wednesday.
A tip led U.S. Marshal Service deputies and local law enforcement officers to arrest the suspect, previously identified by law enforcement as Bernard Fish, 27, in a traffic stop near Shawano, Wis. According to a press release, the suspect fled from the vehicle. Authorities tracked him down and arrested him without incident shortly after.
He was lodged in the Brown County Jail pending arraignment in federal court in Green Bay Thursday on a charge of impersonating a federal officer. He is scheduled to be extradited to Michigan and arraigned on local charges.
The other suspect, Donavan Waupoose, 21, of Stephenson, was arraigned last month in Baraga County Circuit Court. He faces two counts of armed robbery. Waupoose is lodged in Baraga County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Waupoose is charged with two counts of armed robbery, a felony punishable by life imprisonment; two counts of extortion, a 20-year felony; two counts of unlawful imprisonment, a 15-year felony; and a count of impersonating a police officer to commit a crime, a four-year felony.
