October 9, 2013
The Daily Mining Gazette

CALUMET - Calumet spread its offensive opportunities around with tremendous balance in a 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-15) WestPAC volleyball sweep of L'Anse Tuesday.

Five players had four or more kills. After leader Pam Torola's six, Alisa Storm, Lexie Rowe and Loretta Anderson all had five apiece and Carissa Pavolich added four. Almost all the kills came from Terilynne Budreau, who had 23 of the Kings' 26 assists.

Calumet also served L'Anse tough, recording a team total of 13 aces. Libero Megan Yeo notched five, while Anderson tacked on three more.

Defensively, the Kings got a dozen digs apiece from Rowe and Budreau.

Calumet's back in action Thursday at home against West Iron County.

Ironwood 3, Ewen-Trout Creek 0

IRONWOOD - E-TC improved with each set, but not enough to avoid a 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-20) non-league sweep at the hands of the Red Devils.
