To the editor:
The Kiwanis Club of the Copper Country would like to thank the many people who purchased chicken dinners for the 56th annual Kiwanis Chicken Barbecue Sept. 7 at the Dee Stadium in Houghton.
This event would not have been possible without the hard work of many volunteers from MTU Circle K, Houghton High School Key Club, and the impressive work of MTU Kappa Tao. Thank you also to the Bluffs, Jillberts, Louie's Foods of Lake Linden, Walmart, Festival Foods, Gitzens Supply, Econo Foods and the Upper Peninsula Power Company for helping us with ingredients and supplies.
Thank you also to Subway for sponsoring the printing of the tickets and Designotype printers for the fliers.
A very big thank you to the City of Houghton for allowing use the use of the Dee Stadium and the Matt Manderfield pits.
A very special thank you to Kevin Maki of the Dee for being so helpful.
