L'ANSE - One of two people suspected in the armed robbery of two Watton residents in August was arraigned in 97th District Court Tuesday.
Bernard Fish, 47, of Shawano, Wis., was arraigned on seven charges stemming from the August incident.
Fish was arrested by U.S. Marshal deputies and local law enforcement officers after a traffic stop in his hometown in early October.
His bond was set at $1 million. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 12.
Fish is charged with two counts of armed robbery, a felony punishable by life in prison; two counts of extortion, a 20-year felony; two counts of unlawful imprisonment, a 15-year felony; and impersonating a police officer to commit a crime, a four-year felony.
Fish's alleged co-conspirator, Donavan Waupoose, 21, of Stephenson, is scheduled for a pretrial in Baraga County Circuit Court Friday. He is charged with two counts of armed robbery.
