Mary Ann Semmens

SOUTH RANGE - Mary Ann Semmens, 82, longtime South Range resident, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming while under the loving care of her family.

Mary Ann was born December 16, 1930, in Calumet Twp., to Charles and Mary (Jackovich) Dlubala. She worked at Michigan Tech University and later at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility where she retired from in 1993.

Mary Ann was a member of the Holy Family Parish in South Range. She enjoyed gardening, going for Sunday drives, time spent with her grandchildren and will be remember by her family for her good cooking.

Mary Ann is survived by four children, Mary Jane (Ed) Lorenz of Marquette, Ann (Jay) Hollen of Fern, Wis., Jackie (Greg) Baldini of Ishpeming and Edwin (Karen) Semmens of Atlantic Mine; a sister, Catherine Wanhala of Chicago; eight grandchildren, Lavet (Andrew) McClurg, Thon Lorenz (Melissa), Jay Hollen Jr., Andrew (Jennifer) Hollen, Dawn Baldini (Jeremy), Aaron Baldini, Kayla Semmens (Jon), and Kevin Semmens; three great grandchildren, Presley and Britton Hollen and Adelaide McClurg; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sidney "Jack" Semmens; and a brother, Sonny Dlubala.

Mary Ann's family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, November 2, 2013, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the Holy Family Parish in South Range where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. John Martignon officiating.

A luncheon will follow the Mass in the church's fellowship hall.

Mary Ann's family would like to thank the staff at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Mary Ann while she was a resident there.
