C.A.P.E. offers thanks for festival

November 23, 2013
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

The fundraising committee for the Community Alliance for Progressive Education (C.A.P.E) would like to thank our community for its support for our Fall Harvest Festival held at LaRose Wellness Retreat on Saturday October 19th. The family orientated event was very successful. Kids, especially, had a great time painting pumpkins, taking a hayride, going to the Mad Scientist's laboratory, playing games, pressing cider, making fairy houses and crafts, getting their face painted, and much more. Tables of delicious food and beverages as well as grilled hotdogs and brats were provided through the sponsors below and also brought by members of C.A.P.E. The evening topped off the day with dancing and socializing to local music from the Pasi Cats and Viney Willa. We would like to convey our sincere appreciation to all who helped with the success of this event:

LaRose Wellness Retreat, Subway, Econo Foods, Betterly Painting, Superior Rent All, Pat's IGA /Festival Foods, The Hughes Farm, Superior Family Chiropractic, McDonalds, Witting Contracting, Keweenaw Coffee Works, Keweenaw Co-op, Vollwerth's, Walmart, Pasi Cats, Viney Willa, Jess Kane (Face Painting), Deborah Usitalo (Games/Crafts), Ari Anna Usitalo, Evi Usitalo, Ryan Fraki, The Miller Farm (Apple Press), Renee Marion (The Mad Scientist's Lab), and countless others who brought food and helped with all the kids activities.

Thanks again from the C.A.P.E. Fundraising Committee and Executive Team.
