FLINT, Mich. - Norma Jean Burger, 84, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 15, 2013.

She was born in Flint, Mich. to Leslie and Marguerite Huntington on May 10, 1929. Norma graduated from Montrose High School in 1947 and married the love of her life, Charlie Burger on January 10, 1948, in Flushing, Mich. They lived in Clio, Mich., until 1983, when they moved to the Copper Country.

Norma's life was dedicated to children and music. She was involved for many years with the Girl Scouts, taught Sunday school, directed various church choirs, sang in church, and was a volunteer tutor with local schools. Norma sang her first solo in church at the age of 10.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Jan Pierce; and nephew, Jeff Pierce.

Norma is survived by her husband, Charlie; children, Charle (Grace) Burger of Misery Bay, Debra (Gerry) Stefanich of Houghton, Lynn (Jim) Burch of Bedford, Ind., Bruce (Joy) Burger of Wyandotte and Gail Burger of Montrose; seven grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren; and nephew, Kris Pierce.

At the request of the deceased, cremation has taken place. In early summer of 2014, there will be a celebration of Norma's life at Peninsula Christian Church in Dollar Bay, Pastor Terry Morrison to officiate.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, please consider a donation to a charity of one's choice.
