Pool party

December 18, 2013
The Daily Mining Gazette

The Houghton girls' swim team claimed a 150-66 victory over the Hancock/Jeffers co-op at the Houghton High School pool Tuesday.

Hancock had five wins Tuesday, including two apiece for Hannah Heikkinen (200 free, 500 free) and Olivia Rouleau (200 individual medley, 100 breast). Rouleau's IM, which she completed in 2:22.18, broke a Hancock High School record dating back to 1982 (Sue Witting).

Individual winners for Houghton included Sophie Witting (50 free), Annika Wheeler (100 fly), Maya Urban-Perlinger (100 free) and Lindsay Sandell (100 back). The Houghton boys participated in an exhibition Tuesday, as all of the Hancock/Jeffers swimmers are female. First photo, Houghton diver Zack Anderson looks for his entry point.
