ROCKFORD, Mich. - Olive Frances Brunett passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2013.

Olive F. Bourque (Burke) was born on May 5, 1920, in Chassell, and always remained a Yooper, "don't cha know." She was a former resident of Rockford for 50 years and a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Belmont. She became a Navy wife when she married Achil Brunett of Houghton, on February 7, 1945, in Chassell. After 21 years of Navy life, they retired to the Lowell then Rockford area.

She will be greatly missed by her beloved children, Olive Mary (Ronald) Wilson, and John Francis Brunette. There are 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Mabel (Lancour) Bourque (Burke); her sisters, Mabel Lanquist, Audrey Burke, and Gertrude Bowden; daughter, Patricia Margaret Brunette, and daughter-in-law, Doni.

There are many cousins in the Upper Peninsula, Detroit area, as well as Wisconsin, and New York. A special thank you to the staff at Rehoboth Assisted Living in Byron Center, and Jen, Robin, Camillia and Logan, who cared for her so wonderfully and lovingly.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, December 28, 2013, in Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 4865 Eleven Mile Rd., Rockford, MI 49341 with Rev. Anthony Russo presiding.
