HOUGHTON - Betty J. Terrian, 80, of Houghton, died on Monday morning, January 13, 2014, at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.
She was born in Calumet on March 8, 1933, to the late Charles and Marguerite (Bohrer) Terrian, moving to Houghton when she was three years old. She graduated from Houghton High School with the class of 1951. After graduation, she started working at Michigan Bell Telephone Company. In 1954 she was married to Kenneth Koski and moved to Sault Ste. Marie, where she continued to work at Michigan Bell for 10 years. Her five children were born while they lived there.
She later returned to the area where she worked and retired from JCPenney after 18 years.
She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock. She enjoyed knitting, working puzzles, reading, and visiting friends. She also had a collection of more than 200 angels.
Besides her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by two sons, Kurt in 1994 and Kraig in 2012; and a brother, Charles.
Surviving are two sons, Keith (Julie) Koski of Hancock and Kevin (Anna) Koski of Houghton; a daughter, Karen Hannon of Hancock; grandchildren, Ariel, Reece, Jennifer, Owen, Jessica, Corey, Kyle, Christopher and Scott; great-grandchildren, Venessa, Jeffrey, Natalie, Lenae, Lannis, and Kayden; two sisters, Donna (Paul) Thomson of Grayling and Kathy (Tom) McEnhill of North Muskegon; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 in the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock with Rev. Fr. Corbin Eddy to officiate.
Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
Friends may call at the church for an hour before services. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Church of the Resurrection in the name of Betty Terrian.
