THAILAND - Mark H. Kitti, 65, of Thailand, passed away peacefully at his home by his wife's side on January 12, 2014.
He was born on May 5, 1948 in Laurium, the son of Walter and Ina Kitti.
He attended the local schools and was a graduate of the Calumet High School of 1966.
He married Lynn Hatala and was the proud father of daughter, Tracey and son, Jay. They divorced and he married Penn Matchie in 1996. He had a step daughter, Dara.
He was a three-year veteran serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as an electronics technician working on missile guidance systems.
He graduated from Michigan Technological University with an associate's degree in electrical engineering technology.
He worked at the Kingston Mine, CCI and Calpine Energy.
He enjoyed working and traveling around the world but his heart was in Traprock Valley.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Daniel Hurd; father, Walter; and brother, Christopher.
He is survived by his mother, Ina of Traprock Valley; his wife, Penn of Thailand; daughter, Tracey (James) Teague of Escondido, Calif.; son, Jay (Julie Chang) of San Diego, Calif.; stepdaugher, Daranee (John) Sigler of San Francisco, Calif.; granddaughter, Brenna Teague of Escondido, Calif.; sisters, Carole (Stan) Horowitz of Falls Church, Va., Marcia (Cliff) Nichols of Traprock Valley; brothers, Paul (Doris) Kitti of Marquette, Kurt (Kelly) of Woodbridge, Va.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation and services were held in Thailand.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
