NEW ALLOUEZ - Jack Gary Briskey, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. He was 81 years young.
He was born in Fulton on October 7, 1932, to Leo Briskey and Laura (Simila) Briskey, went to Calumet High School, served in the Army.
On February 26, 1955, he was married to Barbara Anderson in Detroit. Jack worked various jobs in the Detroit area, until getting into the postal service. He worked in the Southfield Post office as Supervisor until 1977, when he moved to Crystal Falls serving as Postmaster until 1990 when he retired and moved to New Allouez.
He loved his family and lived his life to the absolute fullest. He loved his dancing on Sunday nights at the White House Senior Prom. There were no strangers when he was around and will be sorely missed.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Leo in 1959, and Laura in 1989; and sister, Judy (Briskey) Grigg in 1968.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara; his daughters, Kim Briskey Coury, Lori Briskey Carney, Kelly Briskey McMahon; and his son, Tom; his grandchildren, Ashley, Mark, Beth, Zach, Haylee, and Shanise will miss his laughter and his love; as will his great-granddaughter, Aleah; and his nieces, Joni Grigg Fielder, Carol Grigg, Jarema; and nephew, Chuck Grigg.
A memorial service will held in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Monday, January 27, 2014, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tim Johnston to officiate.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. on Monday in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home.
