SOUTH RANGE - Marcia K. Veker, 72, a resident of South Range, passed away Friday evening, February 14, 2014, at Portage Health in Hancock following a lengthy illness.
She was born on December 22, 1941, in Hancock, a daughter of the late Charles and Impi Veker. She attended the Adams Township Schools.
Marcia was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of South Range where she was active with the lady's group of the church. She also enjoyed working with arts and crafts.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and a nephew, John Veker.
Surviving are her children, Debra (Robert) Beyerlein of Hemlock, Mich., Steven (Myrna) Koski of Lemoore, Calif., Wendy (Tim) Gerdeen of the Houghton Canal and Michael (Tonya) Waltanen of Twin Lakes; her grandchildren, Lauren, Samantha, Tristan, Joshua, Harlan, Shaylee and Brogan; her brothers, Gayle Veker of Anchorage, Alaska, Stuart Veker of Toivola and Roger Veker of Toivola; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Marcia will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in Grace Lutheran Church in South Range with Rev. Sally Wilke to officiate.
Spring burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery in South Range.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
