Once again this year the Copper Country Community Arts Center is spearheading "Celebrate Youth Arts Months."
And we feel the artistic talent of Copper Country youth is certainly worth celebrating.
Readers of the Daily Mining Gazette have no doubt enjoyed the daily example of artwork by area youth we have featured on our daily "Etcetera" page.
Keep in mind, those daily offerings are just a taste of what is on hand at the arts center in Hancock.
The Kerredge Exhibition Gallery currently has work by more than 200 local youth will on display. According to their website, "work created by our students is always inspiring and fresh."
CCCAC personnel said the exhibit also reflects this area's hardworking and talented local art teachers and how their creativity and passion for the arts influences their students' work. Their support and guidance will effect these youth for the rest of their lives.
Many of those teachers along with their students were honored at a special reception at the gallery on March 8. We will continue to feature some of the artists and their work throughout the month. The exhibition of youth art will be on display through March 29.
We are totally in support of this celebration and are proud of our small part in it. We encourage everyone to pay a visit to the CCCAC during the month of March and all year long. It certainly is one of the true gems of the Keweenaw.
