To the editor:
Lately I have been noticing that the former Back Room Bookstore has had some huge garbage bins there getting filled and filled with whatever contents from inside.
As an avid book reader and former customer, I can only hope that all those bags and bags, if they are books, are not going into the trash.
There are many organizations and individuals that would be more than happy to receive such items. I know for one, the Military has a program called Operation Paperback in which shipments of books are sent to the troops everywhere for their base libraries.
I have not seen or heard of the City doing any kind of sale or letting the public purchase things that were left in the building, so I am curious as to what the plans are for all that stuff?
