DOLLAR BAY - Richard W. "Demis" Dembowski, 38, of Dollar Bay, passed away on March 21, 2014, in Hancock.
He was born on September 3, 1975, in Wakefield, the son of Fritzi Barron and Richard Dembowski, Sr.
Rick attended Washington Elementary School and graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, Mich.
After high school, he completed the corrections officer program at Gogebic Community College and worked as a corrections officer for a total of 15 years.
Rick loved watching football, riding his 4-wheeler and spending time with his many friends and neighbors.
Rick is survived by his parents, Richard Dembowski, Sr., of Wakefield; and Fritzi Barron of Bessemer; a sister, Lisa (Scott) Brown of Hurley, Wis.; a niece, Kaitlyn Tollstam; a nephew, Tyler Brown; an uncle, Gordon (Betty) Dembowski of Oak Creek, Wis.; two step-sisters, Beverly (Kiko) Davis of Rosemount, Minn., and Janet (Angelo) Aimone of Montreal, Wis.; plus many loyal friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his step-father, Bill Barron.
Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Rick's life will be scheduled at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by the Jukuri-Antila Funeral Home in Hancock, Antila Funeral Service, Inc.
