From left, Emma Gariepy, Marissa Labyak and Ashley Laitinen rehearse their dance moves for “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,”?which will be performed at 7 p.m. May 16 and again at 3 p.m. May 17. Tickets for the show are $12 for adults, $6 for seniors and children 2 to 18 years of age. Children under 2 will be admitted free.
It was difficult for the school to decide which version of the movie to put on, so aspects of both are included in the show.
"(We're) putting our own little twist on it,"?Berryman said. "We've been doing our own little styles of dance to portray the different characters."
Marissa Labyak portrays the character of Mike Teevee.
"It's kind of upbeat and you have to have an attitude, too,"?Labyak said, describing how she uses dance to portray her character.
She also thinks the show is coming along well.
"It's really cool,"?she said. "I really think (audiences) will enjoy it."
Labyak has been in dance for 11 years and enjoys the "chaos" of it and just being busy.
