HOUGHTON - Auto Pro Glass and Tire overcame a 7-2 deficit to force extra innings in a Portage Lake Minor (age 9-10) division baseball game at Hancock Driving Park Tuesday against South Range VFW.
In the seventh, Logan Sandell delivered a game-winning RBI single for Auto Pro to drive away 8-7 victors.
Chad Nordstrom had three hits for the winners, while Sandell and Owen Keteri both had two. Austin Miller and Ian Nordstrom both doubled.
For South Range VFW, Rhea Bar-Ziv and Saar Bar-Ziv both had a pair of hits.
Another team making a comeback was the Portage Health Green Sox, who came from 9-6 down to defeat Houghton Rotary 12-11.
Bradon Gagnon sparked the rally in the top of the sixth by singling down the third base line.
Ryan Vlahos and Dylan Horning had two hits apiece for the winners, whose bid was strengthened by three strong innings of relief from Nicolas Horning (one hit and two walks allowed in three innings).
Paul Olson had three singles for Houghton Rotary. Cam Markham had two.
Both Kissel Chevrolet and Superior Service got effective pitching in South Range Tuesday, but Cameron Cischke's second-inning RBI double helped Kissel pull ahead en route to a 3-1 victory.
Brandon Norkol added an insurance run in the fifth for Kissel. He, Landon Gardner and Eli Salo combined to fan 14.
Loui Larson had Superior Service's lone run of the night. Kyle Heltunen, Lance Heinonen and Emmett Larson had 11 combined strikeouts for Superior Service.
Thrivent Financial defeated Tervo Agency 12-8. Clayton Crist and Tyler Sayen both had three hits. Gaborik Carlson and Eric Anderson added two. Dillion Primeau homered and tripled for Tervo.
