MASS CITY - Clark Wayne Harting, 79, of Mass City, died Saturday morning, July 12, 2014, at Marquette General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Harting was born on December 7, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Francis Valentine and Olga (Stueber) Harting. He was employed for many years in the construction trades, retiring as a construction superintendent.
In his free time, Mr. Harting was an avid gardener taking particular interest in his orchids and roses. He was also a prolific painter and was always busy remodeling his home and garage in Mass City.
Survivors include two children, Dr. Sandra Harting of Toivola and Brian (Candi) Harting of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren; also special family friends, Vern Simula of Virginia, Minnesota, Diane Raven and Mike Scheiwe of Toivola and Marquette, Debbie, Bill and Liam Fyvie of Rockland, Mike, Sue and Murphy Mallow of Calumet.
Preceding him in death apart from his parents was a son, James; and two brothers.
A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date by his daughter, Dr. Sandra Harting.
