FREELAND, Mich. (AP) — The MBS International Airport near Saginaw has received more than $660,000 in federal funding to update its master plan and layout plan.
U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin of Michigan announced the grant from the Department of Transportation. Bay County and the cities of Midland and Saginaw own and operate the airport.
Stabenow says changes to the airport plans will enable future upgrades.
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics says the airport's most popular domestic destinations are Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis.
