Northwestern State has 9 president finalists

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The University of Louisiana system says consultants have recommended nine candidates for president of Northwestern State University.

They include Bossier Parish Community College chancellor James Henderson; Georgia Highlands College interim president Renva Watterson; and former president of The College of the Bahamas, Betsy Boze.

Others are Robert Mock, Jr., vice president for student affairs at the University of Kentucky; Michelle Johnston, senior vice president for administrative affairs at the University of Montevallo in Alabama; Ron Dempsey, a vice president at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia; consultant Eugene Gilchrist; Linda Rinker, executive vice president for academic affairs at Davenport University in Michigan, and Marwan Wafa, vice chancellor and dean at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus.

The search committee meets Thursday in Baton Rouge to choose semifinalists.
