Bulldogs sweep Jets
HANCOCK – The Hancock Bulldogs earned a baseball sweep over the Jeffers Jets Friday in Hancock, winning 5-4 and 5-2.
Hans Stimac was the winning pitcher in the opener and went all six innings.
In the bottom of the sixth, with the score tied 4-4, Hancock’s Travis Pietila recorded a walk-off game-winning hit with two outs to give Hancock the win.
In Game 2, Hancock jumped out to a 5-0 lead with Carter Nettell earning the win on the mound with relief assistance from Alex Nordstrom. The pitching duo limited the Jeffers offense to three hits, while Nettell had two doubles.
Up next, Hancock faces Houghton on Tuesday. Hancock is tied with calumet for the conference lead at 5-1.
