Jets win opener of Gaylord DIII Challenge
GAYLORD — Looking to continue their three-game road trip with a second strong performance, the Jeffers Jets hockey team did just that Friday night, defeating the Farmington Falcons, 4-2, in their opening game of the Gaylord DIII Challenge.
The Jets had two goals, including an empty-netter from Brendan Middleton, and a goal each from Clay Larson and Steven Suhonen.
Also picking up points on the night were Jake Marcotte and Darren Nordstrom, who had two assists.
Brendan Sullivan, starting his second straight night in goal, stopped 22 of 24 Falcons’ shots.
The Jets play the final game of their road trip today when they face the Grosse Ile Devils.
