Girls roundup: L’Anse falls; LL-H, DB win

L’ANSE — The L’Anse Purple Hornets were looking to avenge a 32-point early season loss to the Ishpeming Hematites Monday night at home, and for the first quarter, it appeared as though they might be able to do it. However, with Bailey Froberg under the weather, the Hornets could not match the Hematites for four quarters, falling 67-57.

The Hornets, who led 20-15 after one quarter and trailed just 37-34 at the half, only had six points from Froberg.

Sarah Dix had a strong night for the Hornets, hitting two 3-pointers and scoring a team-high 16 points.

The Hornets return to the floor Thursday when they travel to Hancock.
