Finlandia soccer loses to Kansas Christian 4-1

YANKTON, S.D. — Late goals were the difference as the Finlandia University men’s soccer team (1-4) lost 4-1 to Kansas Christian (6-2-1), Monday afternoon.

Finlandia had just two shots in the first half but made the most of them. At the 13:10 mark, junior Edward Caballero fired in a perfect pass to freshman Moises Membreno.

Membreno rocketed the ball into the net to make it 1-0. Kansas Christian had seven shots but the Lions prevented them from getting any on target.

In the second half, the Falcons scored two goals in a 10 minute period to lead 2-1 with 30 minutes to go.

Over the next 14 minutes, FinnU had two shots that just missed being goals. KCC scored twice in the span of eight minutes to seal the deal.

Finlandia remains on the road, Wednesday, Sept. 20 playing Mount Marty in Yankton, S.D. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m
