Tech women rise to No. 12 in poll

LILBURN, Ga. — The Michigan Tech women’s basketball team climbed four spots to No. 12 in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, announced Tuesday by the national office. The Huskies were ranked 21st in the preseason poll, moved up to 10th in the first regular-season rankings and held the No. 18 ranking for two weeks prior to jumping up to No. 15 on Dec. 12th. Tech was in the No. 13 spot for two weeks before the No. 16 ranking last week.

Michigan Tech picked up 291 points in this week’s poll and remains as one of two GLIAC teams ranked in the top 25. Ashland is undefeated at 17-0 and stays in the No. 1 spot with 600 points and all 24 first-place votes.

Michigan Tech is back on the road this week for two more GLIAC games at Wayne State and Davenport.
