Chassell’s Milly Allen named Player of the Year

Milly Allen of Chassell was awarded MVP honors of the Copper Mountain Conference, while her coach Brandi Hainault won Coach of the Year, and teammate Meg Hokenson was named Defensive Player of the Year on Friday by the conference’s coaches. 

Allen and teammate Sydney Danison were named to the Copper Mountain Conference Elite Team, along with Elise Besonen (Ewen-Trout Creek), Bethany Baldwin (Watersmeet), Ivy Klemett (Jeffers) and Saundra Libertoski (Wakefield-Marenisco). 

Allen, Danison and Klemett all made the Copper Country Division First Team. They were joined by Laura Lyons (Lake Linden-Hubbell), Jenna Pietila (Chassell) and Leah Pennala (Jeffers). 

Baldwin, Besonen and Libertoski, along with Jenny Labyak (Ontonagon) and Taylor Manchester (Bessemer) made up the Porcupine Mountain Division first team. 

The Copper County Second Team consists of Martina Jahfetson (Baraga), Bailey Poyhonen (Dollar Bay), Hockenson, Dana Kinnunen (Jeffers) and Cierra Stevens (Jeffers). 

Abby LeGault (E-TC), Caitlin Lynch (Bessemer), Izabelle Lutz (Ontonagon), Paige Berglund (E-TC) and Alexa Jilek (W-M) were named to the Porcupine Mountain Division Second Team. 

Tailyn Raisanen (R-M), Kierstyn Codere (LL-H), Holly Wardynski (Ontonagon) and Fahren Kolpack (Ontonagon) all received honorable mentions.
