Softball: LL-H sweeps L’Anse 14-10 and 13-9
AURA — Lake Linden-Hubbell won two tight contests against L’Anse on Tuesday in L’Anse. Both wins came by narrow margins — 14-10 in the first and 13-9 in the second.
Laura Lyons had four hits in the first game, three singles and a double, and Kierstyn Codere hit four singles. The Lakes drew seven walks in the win.
For L’Anse Maija Rice recorded a single and a double, Kaitlyn Voskuhl had a single and a double of her own and Josie Rice hit three singles.
In Game 2, LL-H needed an extra inning to get the victory, scoring four runs in the eighth. The Lakes jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the opening inning, but really piled on the runs late in the game, 9-run rally in the last two innings.
Mackenzie LePage, who pitched for the Lakes in both games, had a single and a double in Game 2; Lyons had three singles and Codere recorded two singles and a double.
In Game 2, Sarah Dix had two singles and a double to lead L’Anse.
