Lakes earn win on road to start
WATERSMEET — The Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes girls basketball team opened their season in stunning fashion, scoring 25 points in the first quarter alone en route to a 62-38 win on the road over Watersmeet.
Mackenzie LePage drove the offense for the Lakes, scoring seven baskets in the opening quarter alone as part of a 22-point night.
The Lakes took a 35-21 lead into the half. In the second half, Joslynn Perala got going, putting up seven of her 11 points and helping drive a 10-point third quarter.
Lake Linden scored 17 points in the final eight minutes with every single girl who touched the floor getting at least a point.
