November 4
• The November meeting of the Houghton-Keweenaw Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the Bonfire in Houghton. The business meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by a buffet lunch. The guest speaker will be Mike Lutz, Executive Director of Omega House. All members are encouraged to attend. November 5
• Substitue hiring open house, 2 p.m. CCISD, 809 Hecla St. Hancock. The Copper Country Intermediate School District will hold an open house for those interested in filling substitute teaching positions.
October 6
• Community Dance, 6-9 p.m. Finnish American Heritage Center. The Finnish American Folk School will host a Community Dance will music by the Backroom Boys. Dance lessions at 6 p.m. damce starts at 7 p.m. $8 at the door, under 18 free.
• Ontonagon Blood Drive, 2 – 5 p.m. Eagles Clue, 314 Quartz St. Ontonagon. The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at the Ontonagon Eagles Hall. To learn more or to make an appointment, contact the UPRBC at 906-449-1450. Walk-ins are welcome.

• Free soup Supper, 6 p.m. Mission United Church, Pelkie. Mission United Church invites the public to a free chili soup supper on Friday at 6 pm. Breads, desserts and beverages will also be served.
November 8
• Fourth annual Hunter’s Ball, 7-11 p.m Range Lounge, South Range. Sponsored by South Range 4th of July committee. Live music by Slick Nickel, $5 cover charge. 50/50 and gift basket drawings. All proceeds go to South Range 4th of July festivities.
