Board approves financing
ONTONAGON – Ontonagon County Board of Commissioners met last month and approved:
• Paying Hannula Agency Inc. $55,046 for an annual blanket policy covering county property.
• Paying Wuebben Construction $73,564.20 for Ontonagon County Park improvements, in addition to investing $12,319 for a sanitary dump station and $500 for a handicapped-accessible swing at the park.
• A $6,000 Snowmobile Law Enforcement Grant to the Sheriff’s Office from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
• Two funding requests from the Sheriff’s Office: $186 for two tasers and $2,356 for a copier and maintenance contract.
• Duane Kolpack as the soil erosion control agent.
• An amended three-year Ontonagon County Public Transit agreement with Copper Country Community Mental Health Services, increasing the directional trip charge from $60 to $75.
• Paying sole-bidder John D. Construction, Inc. $1,773.26 for materials and repairs at the ambulance garage.
• Paying 44 North Health Plan $495 to prepare updated county employee handbooks covering the ever-changing group health plan, and $295 to update the manual in future years.
• A contract with John Michael Wilmes for county park maintenance.
