Laurium man gets prison for OWI crash causing injuries
EAGLE RIVER — A Laurium man will serve prison time for a July drunk-driving crash that injured two people in the car he hit.
Devin Joyal, 23, was sentenced to 18 months to five years for two counts of operating while intoxicated – causing serious injury.
Two charges of reckless driving – causing serious impairment of bodily function, also a five-year felony, were dismissed.
Both people in the car Joyal hit were transported to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital after the crash. The other was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital in critical condition.
Joyal must also pay $4,539.84 in restitution.
