Man from Eagle Harbor arraigned on child porn charges

EAGLE RIVER — An Eagle Harbor man was arraigned Monday in Keweenaw County on nine child pornography charges.

Michael Braman, 61, allegedly had more than 100 images of child sexually abusive material, and material involving prepubescent children and sadomasochistic abuse or bestiality. He was arrested on Keweenaw County Sunday.

Deputies from the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office investigated over several months with assistance from the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

The man faces nine felony counts: three counts of child sexually abusive activity, a 20-year felony; three counts of using a computer to commit a crime, a felony punishable by 20 years in prison; and three counts of child sexually abusive material – aggravated possession, a 10-year felony.

Bond was set at $100,000 cash. A preliminary hearing will take place within three weeks.
