Men arraigned on drug charges Monday
HOUGHTON — Two men were arraigned in 97th District Court Monday on drug charges stemming from a two-month Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) investigation.
Kevin Anderson, 31, whose last known address was in Hancock, is charged with delivery-manufacture of a mixture containing cocaine — less than 50 grams, as well as delivery-manufacture of a mixture containing methamphetamine – less than 50 grams, both 20-year felonies.
Fred Davenport, 28, of Milwaukee, is charged with delivery-manufacture of a mixture containg heroin –less than 50 grams, a 20-year felony. He is also charged with lying to a peace officer, a two-year high court misdemeanor. Davenport allegedly provided a false name and date of birth to the officer.
Officers arrested the men in Houghton Thursday after spotting Anderson driving. Officers said they found heroin and crack cocaine in the vehicle, along with a digital scale.
Both men’s preliminary examinations are scheduled for July 22.
