Name released of plane crash victim
CARP LAKE TOWNSHIP — The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the pilot killed in a plane crash last weekend in Carp Lake Township.
Jack Maccani, 36, of Ironwood was the sole occupant of the plane that crashed en route from Gogebic County Airport to Ontonagon County Airport.
After an extensive air and ground search, the plane was found in a difficult-to-reach area of Carp Lake Township near Forest Road 630, said Ken Waldrop of the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
