Two sentenced in drug case
EAGLE RIVER — Two Keweenaw County residents arrested in a drug investigation last summer were sentenced in Keweenaw County Circuit Court Thursday.
Delano Howard, 33, and Sarah Howard, 32, both of Mohawk, were arrested last summer after a several-week drug investigation by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.
Delano Howard was sentenced to two to four years in prison for delivery-manufacture of 25 to 50 grams of a controlled substance – cocaine, heroin or other narcotic. He received no credit for time served.
Sarah Howard was charged with possession of 50 to 449 grams of a controlled substance – cocaine, heroin or other narcotic. She received five months in jail with credit for two days served. She must also complete two years probation.
Items UPSET detectives found at a Cliff Street residence at the time of their arrest included a quarter-pound of cocaine, more than $6,900 in cash and evidence of drug distribution, UPSET said at the time.
