Shooting in Ontonagon County

An adult male was shot Sunday morning in Ontonagon. While the Michigan State Police is handling the investigation, Ontonagon County Undersheriff Bill Witt said one adult male is the suspect in the investigation.

The incident allegedly happened at a Hobby Farm outside of Greenland. The victim has been transferred to Wausau and his condition has not been released at this time.

The suspect is being held at the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department jail, according to reports.

No information has been released on the victim. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the individual survived the shooting. While law enforcement has no details on the shooting, reports around the community is that the shooting is related to what can best be described as a prank.

The Michigan State Police post out of Wakefield is handling the investigation.
