Houghton High School break-in caught on CCTV

HOUGTHON — The Houghton Police Department is investigating a breaking-and-entering of the Houghton High School that occurred on Friday evening, April 17.

According to a release from that department, the suspect is described as white male who was wearing black pants, a gray sweatshirt with some large, black stripes on it. He was also wearing a black, winter hat with with a white/gray pattern toward the top of the hat. The suspect had on a green, or similar color, backpack that appeared to have two straps that latch the backpack closed. The suspect may in his teens or early 20s.

Lt. Nick Roberts of the Houghton Police said that because the breaking-and entering is an on-going investigation, the department can offer no further details.

“We got four very clear pictures of him, though,” said Roberts, so it will only be a matter of time before he is apprehended. We’re hoping he will just turn himself in.”

The Houghton Police are seeking the identity of the subject. Anyone who may have information or may have been in the area of the Houghton High School between 9-11 p.m., and observed a male subject in the vicinity, is asked to please call the Houghton Police Department at (906)482-2121.
